The Quarry Bay School (QBS) Music Instrument Lesson Program, in collaboration with Pure Orchestral Centre, is a fantastic opportunity for students to begin their musical journey. This program is designed to get more students involved with the orchestra by offering high-quality, after-school instrument lessons right here at QBS. We’re offering these lessons to Year 2 through Year 6 students for a period of one to two years, with the ultimate goal of having them join the QBS orchestra.

Programme Details & Benefits

Lessons will be held in group instrumental classes on Tuesdays from 2:45 pm to 4:15 pm, a 90-minute session that makes learning fun and collaborative. The tuition is $515 per student per session.

We’ve made it easy for your child to get started. When you pay the full tuition, your child will receive an instrument of their choice for free use during their participation in the program.

Besides, we also offer flexible options to make instrument ownership more accessible for our QBS music lessons offering:

  • Rent-to-Own: A termly rental fee between $1,000 to $1,600 per month is available, depending on the instrument. Once the total rental fees meet the cost of the instrument, your child will own it. During the rental period, you’ll receive a 15% discount on tuition, reducing the session cost to $438.

  • Instrument Ownership: For families who purchase an instrument from PURE, we offer a significant 40% discount on tuition, bringing the session cost down to just $309.

Please note that instrument rentals are subject to availability.

Available Instruments and Age Recommendations

Our program offers a wide range of instruments to suit every student’s interests. The group classes include: Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium, Violin, and Cello.

While we are flexible, we recommend the following age guidelines to ensure a comfortable and positive learning experience for each student:

  • Year 2: Violin, Cello
  • Year 3: Violin, Cello, Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet
  • Year 4: Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone
  • Year 5-6: Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium

This program is a wonderful way for students to explore their musical creativity, build confidence, and become a part of the vibrant QBS community.
