About the Program
Our music program is designed to foster technical growth, ensemble skills, and a lifelong love for music. To ensure every student receives instruction tailored to their experience level, participants in both the Band and Strings departments are classified into three distinct tiers based on their instrumental proficiency.
Tier 1 : Foundational Level
Focus: Basic Technique and Music Literacy
Designed for beginners, this level establishes the essential building blocks of musicianship., basic technique and music literacy.
Tier 2 : Developing Intermediate Level
Focus: Technical Refinement and Ensemble Integration
Designed for players who have mastered the basics and are now balancing personal technical growth with the demands of ensemble performance.
Tier 3 : Refined Intermediate Level
Focus: Ensemble Excellence and Repertoire Expansion
Designed for proficient players ready to move beyond technical basics toward artistic excellence and complex repertoires
The UP ASA Band and String Program is committed to providing high-level musical instruction and orchestral training, directed and led by a team of professional instrumental instructors. The tuition fees for the academic year are as follows:
Fee for 1st Semester: $7,400
Fee for 2nd Semester: $7,400
Total Annual Fee (2 Semesters): $14,800
Performance Schedule
Performance is a vital part of our musical journey. We have two major school showcases scheduled for the 2026–2027 academic year:
- Winter Showcase (January 2027):
Featuring performances by Tier 2 and Tier 3 ensembles (Full Band and String Orchestra). - Spring Gala (May 2027):
A grand finale featuring all tiers, including the debut performance of the Tier 1 Beginning Band and Beginning Strings.
2026/2027 Term Schedule & Fees

| Tier 1 | Students attend one group foundational session per week in Semester 1 and transition to two sessions per week in the form of sectional and ensemble playing in Semester 2. | HK$14800 ($7400 per term) |
| Tier 2 | Students attend two training sessions per week in the form of Sectional, Instrumental Class, Band or String ensemble sessions. | HK$14800 ($7400 per term) |
| Tier 3 | Students attend two training sessions per week in the form of Full Band or Full String Orchestra practice sessions | HK$14800 ($7400 per term) |
All classes are held after school from Monday to Friday. Students will be assigned to specific days based on their instrument and tier.
Classes are held in two daily sessions:
Session 1: 3:00 PM – 3:45 PM
Session 2: 4:00 PM – 4:45 PM

Enrollment: To secure a student’s timeslot, tuition fees must be settled in full prior to the commencement of each term.
Additional Costs: Please note that tuition covers instruction and training. Additional fees for instrument purchase, rent-to-own programs, rentals, and required accessories for different instruments are not included and will be handled individually based on the student’s needs.
