Meet Natalie Shek: Our New, Passionate Flutist & Educator
Natalie Shek is a passionate and highly accomplished flutist with 14 years of experience. She has newly joined our team at PURE, bringing valuable skills as a dedicated and knowledgeable educator.
Recently, Natalie has just completed her Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Music at Hong Kong Baptist University in May 2025. During her studies, she was under the esteemed guidance of renowned flutist and mentor, Olivier Nowak.
A Diverse and Accomplished Journey
Natalie Shek‘s musical background is both extensive and diverse. She has performed with several prestigious ensembles, including the HKBU Symphony Orchestra, the Hong Kong Youth Orchestra, and the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of Hong Kong. She has also performed with the Cyber Symphonic Winds and Flute Utopia.
As a soloist, Natalie has received numerous honors and awards for her outstanding performances. Her achievements include:
- Champion in the International Music Competition (Japan);
- Champion in the International Children’s and Youth Woodwind Competition in both 2022 and 2023; And also
- Champion in the Woodwind: University Diploma Class in 2021.
An Experienced Educator
Besides, Natalie Shek brings her own valuable teaching experience to PURE, having served as a Flute Tutor at Noah Education Centre since July 2021. She has also taught at Tseung Kwan O Methodist Primary School. Natalie holds an ABRSM Grade 8 in Flute and Vocal, as well as an ABRSM Grade 5 in Music Theory.
Moreover, Natalie is fluent in Cantonese, English, and Putonghua, which allows her to connect with students from diverse backgrounds. Also, she is excited to share her passion for the flute with our students, helping them develop their skills and find joy in music.
