Marimba

The marimba is a type of percussion instrument. It has a series of
wooden bars arranged like the keys of a piano. These bars are made of
wood, usually rosewood, and are played by striking them with mallets.
When the bars are hit, they produce a warm, resonant tone. Underneath
the bars are tubes that help amplify the sound.

The marimba originated in Central America and is an important part of
traditional music there. Today, it is used in many different styles of
music, from classical to jazz. Marimbists can play intricate rhythms
and melodies by using multiple mallets in each hand.

The marimba's unique, soothing sound makes it a versatile and
expressive instrument.
